Xylokastro is just 117 Km away from Athens and can be reached directly by the Athens-Corinth-Patras motorway.
 If one is not in a hurry though, the drive along the old coastal road from Elefsis to Corinth is very scenic. The old road meets up with the new again just before Corinth canal, which is definitely worth a closer look from the bridge.This is a convenient point to stop for refreshments. Other means of transport include rail, from the Peloponnesus Station in Athens, and bus,from Kifissou street Bus station (buses leave hourly). Both of these stations have a direct linkwith the domestic and international air terminals. The double - decker Air Terminal Express Bus leaves every half hour throughout the day. For those who prefer the convenience of travelling by taxi, the usual practice for such long trips (and day excursions) is to agree on a price with the taxi driver before leaving.
